Philip David Charles Collins LVO, born on January 30, 1951, is a prominent English drummer, vocalist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor. He first rose to fame as the drummer and lead singer of the renowned rock band Genesis, before embarking on a successful solo career. Throughout the 1980s, Collins achieved remarkable commercial success with three UK and seven US number-one singles as a solo artist. Notably, he garnered more US Top 40 singles than any other artist during that decade, with standout tracks such as “In the Air Tonight,” “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now),” “One More Night,” “Sussudio,” “Two Hearts,” and “Another Day in Paradise.”

Collins' musical journey began in west London, where he started playing drums at the age of five. His early training in drama provided him with opportunities as a child actor before he fully dedicated himself to music. He joined Genesis in 1970 as their drummer and ascended to lead vocalist in 1975 after Peter Gabriel's departure.
